Jurickson Profar Contract Could be ‘Worst Signing in Braves History’

Jurickson Profar hasn’t been great since he returned from his 80-game suspension, and one writer believes he could be a piece of history for the wrong reasons. These words may ring true for some, considering the lackluster performance of the Texas Rangers infielder since his comeback. But let’s take a closer look at the situation before we jump to conclusions.

First of all, let’s not forget the fact that Profar’s 80-game suspension was due to a failed drug test. While this is certainly disappointing and raises questions about the player’s integrity, it’s important to remember that everyone makes mistakes. Profar has served his suspension and has been given a second chance to redeem himself. It’s clear that he is determined to make the most of it.

Secondly, we have to consider the fact that Profar has been out of the game for quite some time. 80 games is a long time to be away from the field, and it’s only natural for a player to take some time to get back into the groove of things. Profar has been doing just that. Since his return, he has been gradually improving and showing flashes of his true potential.

In his first 10 games back, Profar batted only .188 with one home run and two RBIs. But since then, he has shown progress, hitting .301 with five home runs and 14 RBIs in his last 35 games. These numbers may not be outstanding, but they certainly show that he is heading in the right direction. And let’s not forget that Profar is still only 25 years old with plenty of room for growth and improvement.

Another important factor to keep in mind is that Profar has had to adjust to a new role on the team. With the emergence of rookie infielder Ronald Guzman, Profar has been relegated to a utility role instead of being a regular starter. This shift in his role on the team could have affected his performance, as he has had to adapt to different positions and playing times. However, Profar has shown his versatility and willingness to do whatever is asked of him, and that’s an admirable quality in any player.

It’s also worth noting that the Rangers, as a team, have been struggling this season. With a record of 41-55, they are currently in fourth place in the American League West division. It’s not easy for any player to shine in such a situation, and Profar is no exception. But despite the team’s struggles, he has been a consistent presence on the field, showing his dedication and determination to help his team in any way possible.

So, what does all of this mean for Jurickson Profar’s future? Does his lackluster performance since his return from suspension make him a forgettable player? Absolutely not. In fact, I believe that this is just a minor blip in his career, and he will soon be back to his old dominant self.

When looking at Profar’s potential, it’s hard not to see the talent and athleticism that made him one of the top prospects in baseball a few years ago. In 2012, he was ranked as the number one prospect in all of baseball by MLB.com, and in 2013, he was ranked as the number four prospect. The potential is still there, and it’s only a matter of time before Profar harnesses it once again.

In conclusion, while Jurickson Profar’s performance since his return from suspension may not have been stellar, it’s important to remember that he is still a valuable asset to the Texas Rangers. His versatility, determination, and potential make him a valuable piece of the team’s puzzle. And who knows, maybe one day we will look back on this time as a small setback in an otherwise successful career. Let’s give Profar the support and encouragement he needs to bounce back and prove his doubters wrong.
