IV Dialogue on Energy Security between Angola and the United States of America
Today, on June 13, the IV Dialogue on Energy Security between Angola and the United States of America took place at the premises of the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum, and Gas in Luanda. The purpose was to discuss energy security support in Angola for electricity production and access.
The Angolan delegation was led by João Baptista Borges, the Minister of Energy and Water, while the American delegation was led by Geoffrey Pyatt, the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources.
The Energy Security Dialogue (ESD) between the two countries focused on issues related to a secure and stable energy supply and on strengthening commercial ties in this sector.
The meeting between João Baptista Borges from Angola and Geoffrey Pyatt from the United States primarily focused on addressing secure and stable energy supply issues, deepening commercial ties between the two countries in this field, and discussing energy security.
Also attending the meeting were José Barroso, Secretary of State for Petroleum; Pedro Afonso, Chairman of the Board of PRODEL-EP; Rui Gourgel, Chairman of RNT-EP; Helder Adão, Chairman of ENDE; Sebastião Martins, Chairman of Sonangol; José Quarta, representative of the Board of IRSEA; and representatives from ANPG.
