“The success of Mexican workers translates into success for our nation,” stated Claudia Sheinbaum.

Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, National Coordinator of the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, emphasized the importance of collaboration between workers and employers for the country’s progress during the XV National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM). She highlighted the commitment to expanding labor rights and avoiding regressions to the past.

In her speech, Sheinbaum Pardo underscored that unity in objectives and purposes is crucial to maintaining the transformation of public life in Mexico. She affirmed that the primary focus should be on continuing the Fourth Transformation, avoiding a return to eras of corruption and privileges.

Following the swearing-in of the first Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation of CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated the commitment to ensuring a dignified life for workers, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the labor and business sectors, an approach championed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

Pedro Haces Barba, Senator of the Republic and General Secretary of CATEM, highlighted achievements made possible through cooperation between labor representatives and the 4T government, such as the increase in the minimum wage and the elimination of subcontracting. He stressed the need to guide every decision based on the principles of the 4T movement.

Senator Ricardo Monreal emphasized the importance of strengthening the relationship between workers and the government to continue expanding labor rights under the leadership of Sheinbaum Pardo.

The XV National Congress of CATEM also saw the presence of figures such as Mario Delgado Carrillo, national president of Morena, as well as governors and representatives from various institutions, demonstrating broad support for the principles and objectives discussed at the event.
